EDUCATION

2010 Humanities

Master of Arts GPA: 3.5 - New York University, New York, NY

The focus of my thesis was The Natural world in Victorian Literature. My course work included a variety of subjects including: literature, journalism, environmental resources, and creative writing. 


2008 English

Bachelor of Arts GPA: 3.75 - Villanova University, Villanova, PA

My degree was in English literature. I also earned concentration certificates in both Environmental Studies as well as Writing and Rhetoric. I completed an optional Senior Thesis/Independent Study research project and graduated with High Honors (Magna Cum Laude).



EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

6/2007 - Present

Woodedge Equestrian School Moorestown, NJ

Instructor

At the farm my responsibilities include teaching lessons focusing on Hunt Seat Equitation, performing barn work (feed, water, hay, cleaning, turnout, and administering medicine and first aid), training young or inexperienced horses, and running a ten week summer camp program. During the summer, I am responsible for all paperwork and daily planning, maintaining responsibility for 20 children and 37 horses. I teach people of all ages and skill level how to safely and confidently ride, handle, and care for different horses.


6/2004 - Present

East Coast Salon Services Runnemede, NJ

Marketing Coordinator

As Marketing Coordinator for an independent beauty supply distributorship, I am in charge of creating sell pieces and promotional signs for services and products offered with the use of Adobe In-design and QuarkXPress. Additionally I am responsible for editing and developing content for the company magazine, The East Coast Connection which is published six times annually. I personally produce much of the printed material that is distributed to the customer and public. While working toward my undergraduate degree I worked for East Coast May - September, filling in on occasion throughout the year. During 2007 I trained a year-round person as my replacement, with her departure and the completion of my master's degree, I have reassumed the position.


9/2008 - 2/2009

Pennsylvania Resource Council Fairless Hills, PA

Environmental Educator

As an Environmental Educator for PRC, I worked in the Exelon Renewable Energy Education Center. My daily responsibilities included leading and teaching thirty-minute programs to several groups of ten to twenty students. I was the first educator to implement their new program, and, therefore, was responsible for developing and refining the effectiveness of the content. I taught the students about alternate energy sources such as landfill gas, wind, hydro, and solar as well as giving them strategies for recycling and conserving energy in their daily lives.

Villanova University - Dean's List Every Semester, Graduating with Magna Cum Laude Honors

President and Captain of Villanova's Intercollegiate Equestrian Team - 2007

Member of American Riding Instructors Association - Level II Hunt Seat Certification 

I have successfully competed in many Equestrian Competitions (Hunter, Jumper, Equitation) up to 3 foot 6 inches including USEF A-Rated shows, local non-rated shows, and IHSA (Intercollegiate) shows. 

I finished first out of 180 competitors in Jumpers for 2009 in my local region.

Writing - Both for academic and personal growth writing is a part of my daily life. I worked on newspaper and yearbook staffs during High School and College
